U.S. reaffirms commitment to support Peru's fight against corruption

The Government of the United States has reaffirmed its commitment to support Peru's fight against corruption.

Remarks were made by the U.S. Ambassador to Lima Krishna R. Urs during his meeting with Justice Minister Vicente Zeballos.

Said meeting took place Thursday at the Justice Ministry headquarters, where the American diplomat stressed that fighting against corruption is a priority task. 

Likewise, the foreign delegation expressed its willingness to continue collaborating with the Peruvian State and Justice sector in order to strengthen capacities for the implementation of the new Code of Criminal Procedure. 

Minister Zeballos thanked the Ambassador for his visit, the openness to the new administration, and willingness to support the country on important matters

Director of U.S. Embassy's International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Section Alberto Rodriguez, Counselor for Political Affairs Eric Falls, and Peruvian Deputy Justice Minister Fernando Castañeda also attended the event.
