U.S. expresses support for Peru and President Boluarte

U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman expressed United States' support for Peru and President Dina Boluarte during a meeting with Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi.

Moreover, the U.S. government official expressed her country's support for President Boluarte's efforts to affirm Peru's democracy, ensuring peace, stability, and the unity of the Peruvian people.


Likewise, the U.S. Deputy Secretary encouraged the Peruvian Government to continue taking steps to hold those responsible for acts of violence accountable.

"The United States is committed to helping Peru strengthen its democratic institutions and working with the Organization of American States, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, and regional partners to protect human rights and support stability in Peru," according to a readout issued by the U.S. Department of State.
