The farewell ceremony for the first Peruvian police agents to be deployed in United Nations Peacekeeping Operations was held in the Peruvian capital, Lima, on Tuesday.

National Police of Peru Commander Luis Enrique Panibra Rojas and First Petty Officer Nestor Sanchez Saenz are the selected agents.

The corresponding ceremony was attended by Interior Minister Vicente Romero Fernandez; National Police Commander General Raul Enrique Alfaro Alvarado; and Chief of the Security and Defense Directorate at the Foreign Affairs Ministry Gonzalo Voto Bernales.

Today, the law enforcement agents will leave for the Central African Republic, where they will join the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) as Individual Police Officers (IPOs).

This important milestone in Peacekeeping Operations has been achieved thanks to the joint effort by the National Police and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, thus strengthening Peru's commitment to international peace and security.
