Spanish King Felipe VI on Monday afternoon was awarded the Medal of Honor in the Grade of Grand Cross by the Peruvian Congress over his contribution to the strengthening of ties uniting both nations.

Upon arrival at Parliament, the monarch was welcomed with corresponding honors.

Afterwards, the royal —and his delegation— held a meeting with Congress Chairman Daniel Salaverry and some of his fellow legislators.

Later, the king held an audience with Judicial Branch Chairman Victor Prado at the Justice Palace Headquarters.

Following this meeting, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia were officially declared Illustrious Guests of Lima and handed over the keys to the capital city by Mayor Luis Castañeda.
