Spain's King Juan Carlos welcomes President García

King Juan Carlos of Spain received today Peruvian president Alan García at the Zarzuela Palace to hold a private meeting, announced Peruvian ambassador to Madrid, José Pérez Sánchez Cerro.
In the first day of his official visit to Spain, president García met a group of Spanish businessmen before heading to the royal Palace, where the Spain King, along with Queen Sofía, will give a dinner for the Peruvian delegation.

When president García was greeted by King Juan Carlos at the conference room, he was accompanied by Peru’s minister of Foreign Affairs, José Antonio García Belaunde.

There were also present the Secretary of State for Ibero-America, Trinidad Jiménez, and the ambassadors of both countries.

After his arrival to Spain, where he will pay a two-day official visit, president García emphasized the great work developed by King Juan Carlos to the consolidation of the Spanish democracy.  

Before the meeting with King Juan Carlos, Peru’s García participated in a business brunch with members of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), in order to further enhance business opportunities for both countries.
