Through the Qatar Charity Organization,
delivered a significant donation of 50 modern ICU beds for the hosting country's Health Ministry (Minsa) and personal protection equipment for the Defense Ministry (Mindef) worth a total of US$250,000.
The donation is aimed at strengthening ICU rooms for COVID-19 patients at healthcare centers run by Minsa.
"They come to us at a very opportune moment because we are better structuring Intensive Care Units (…)," she expressed.
The Cabinet member also thanked the
State of Qatar for its support to the Armed Forces of Peru, which have done an outstanding job reaching remote places to serve the population.
For his part, Deputy Minister of Resources for Defense Jose Boggiano thanked the support that the State of Qatar has also provided to the Defense Ministry, with the donation of more than 7,000 PPE units to safeguard the lives of Armed Forces personnel, who have been arduously supporting the institutions of the State and the Peruvian population.
It must be noted that Qatar has been supporting more than 31 countries on five continents by donating equipment and infrastructure to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, investing an average of US$50 million.
