The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPeru) collaborated with the prestigious Chinese magazine Voyage in a special edition dedicated to exploring the cultural, natural, and historical riches of Peru.

This special issue featured the participation of acclaimed Chinese actor Xia Yu, who, together with a team of journalists and producers, undertook a trip through the country, issuing a testimony of his unforgettable impressions and experiences.

According to Xia Yu, "every person who visits Peru experiences a profound change. The experiences in this country are an opportunity to enrich our lives."

It is worth noting this is the first time that a leading magazine in China publishes an issue entirely dedicated to Peru.

The magazine specialized in luxury travel —which has reached nearly 4 million people in China— offers a vision of the various tourist destinations in Peru, highlighting its cultural heritage, the beauty of landscapes, and the warmth of its people.

Through 30 pieces of content including publications and videos distributed on high-impact platforms such as Weibo, WeChat, Toutiao and Xiaohongshu, it has been possible to capture the essence of a majestic and welcoming Peru, narrating the experiences of Xia Yu and his team in a journey that included destinations such as Lima, Cusco, and Puno.

This PromPeru initiative is part of the efforts to position Peru as a top-level tourist destination globally, seeking to capture the attention of the Chinese market —one of the most important in the international tourism sector.

The trip by Xia Yu and the Voyage team reinforces the link between Peru and China, encouraging the desire to explore and experience the uniqueness of Peru's traditions and landscapes.

The coverage of this trip is an invitation for more people from the Asian Giant to visit Peru and discover for themselves the magic of the South American country.

About Chinese tourists

According to data from PromPeru's service Turismo In, the majority of Chinese citizens long to travel internationally again after the COVID-19 pandemic, with more than 50% planning vacations abroad.

In addition, many Chinese tourists seek authentic experiences, including living like locals and connecting with nature, which matches with Peru's diverse offering and natural attractions.

This turns Chinese travelers into an important engine for tourism growth in Peru and an opportunity to strengthen cultural ties between both countries.
