The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPeru) has awarded the Biotrade Peru seal to 14 companies nationwide in the agribusiness and manufacturing sectors, adding more initiatives that implement this business model of interest in the international market, due to the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity products.

PromPeru provided technical assistance and conducted on-site evaluations in the regions where it intervened.

The companies obtained the seal for their significant efforts to implement Biotrade principles in the value chains of native biodiversity resources

The assessed chains include quinoa, goldenberries, maca, chestnuts, dragon's blood, tara, native cacao, copoazu, and sacha inchi.

Agronegocios Wiraccocha del Peru, Algarrobos Organicos del Peru, Amazon Andes Export, Argos Export, Aspagro Company, Candela Peru, Cafrut, Cooperativa Agrobosque, Coopaidi, Greenbox, Pebani, Origin San Antonio, Shanantina, and Wari Solid Food Peru were the recognized companies for making sustainability a strategic axis in their business management.

With the Biotrade Peru seal, companies will have better opportunities to access important international markets such as the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, and China, participating in commercial platforms where sustainable practices are highly valued by buyers.

Likewise, they will add value to the sector, gaining a competitive and differentiating advantage.

With these actions, the promoting entity fulfills the roadmap of the National Biotrade Promotion Strategy.

In this way, these companies join the 5 alpaca line companies that have obtained the right to use the national seal, making a total of 19 organizations with this distinction.

PromPeru maintains its commitment to promoting sustainable business models that contribute to the conservation of native biodiversity and encourage the development of local communities.

In this regard, the Sustainable Culture strategy represents a path toward this goal, implementing sustainability criteria in exporting companies as differentiating elements in the offer and contributing to increasing their competitiveness to reach international markets.
