The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Sunday affirmed that his Government will promote the development of family farming, so as to ensure the food of the Peruvian people and to provide better health and education services.

During his visit to Tacna region, the Head of State said that his administration is not trying to trip power groups up, noting that he has come to meet the needs of the country and collect debts —which are resources that will serve to assist the most neglected sectors.

"This Government declared the agricultural sector in emergency with farmers in mind and being aware of the situation of farms," he remarked.

"We are going to promote family farming, as you ensure food security in the country, guaranteeing breakfast, lunch, and dinner," the dignitary added.

He went on to say that many people have tried to hinder the Second Agrarian Reform, but this Government has been decisively promoting the sector, which is so important for the country and its population.

In this regard, the top official asked Prime Minister Anibal Torres to set up a technical working group to start working with Tacna authorities, in order to listen to their demands and improve services for the benefit of citizens.

He underscored that urgent issues such as titling, sanitation, and agriculture can be worked on, since this Government has the firm determination to promote agriculture throughout the national territory.

On the other hand, during an activity in Tacna's district of Gregorio Albarracin, the President stated that he is willing to continue working hand in hand with citizens and authorities.

Furthermore, he lamented that some people have accused him of corruption without any evidence, noting that he has been working transparently since he took office.
