The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte sent a special message to all mothers across the country today, the second Sunday of May, which marks Mother's Day, expressing her appreciation for their courage, strength, and dedication to move their families forward.

"On the second Sunday of May, I want to send you a hug at the distance and, through that hug, provide recognition for your courage, strength, and dedication to raise brave and strong girls and boys: our children," she stated.

Likewise, Mrs. Boluarte underscored that it has always been said that Mother's Day is a 365-day celebration, noting that the second Sunday of May "is a special day for all of us."

"(…) because we know that this is the day in which we recognize the selfless work of mothers, who are always in a constant struggle so that our boys and girls can study and build a future for themselves, become great men and women, and serve the Nation," she stated.

In this regard, the country's top official urged all mothers in the country to be the queens of their homes. Besides, she called on children to go home and hug their mothers.

Moreover, the Head of State hoped that those (mothers) who are no longer present will receive this tribute and get an infinite hug in heaven.

"My sincere hug to my dear mothers across Peru. Receive the affection from one woman to another, and from one mother to another. Let us celebrate today with joy and rejoicing, along with grandchildren, children, husbands, sons-in-law, and the entire family, my beautiful mothers throughout Peru," the President remarked.

"Dear Peruvian mothers, be always united in one heart. Happy Sunday, happy Mother's Day," she added.
