19:21 | Abancay (Apurimac region), Oct. 24.
The
President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Monday called for joint actions at the three levels of government in order to address the country's main problems, noting that the Executive Branch is working firmly on this goal.
Remarks were made in a ceremony marking the handing over of more than 3,000 title deeds to households and institutions in Apurimac region.
During the event, the Head of State stressed the need to put aside unnecessary confrontations and join forces to meet the population's demands.
"Within this framework, I must say that we remain firm in facing the main problems the country has to deal with in terms of water, education, and agriculture; those are the emerging issues," President Castillo said in his speech.
Regarding the handing over of title deeds, the dignitary stated that this will allow the Apurimac people to pass on legal inheritance to their relatives, have access to bank loans, and build on their properties.
"Peru has to be a country of property owners. It is pity that, after 200 years, even State-run institutions such as police stations, schools, and medical centers do not have a title deed, and all the authorities are aware of that," he emphasized.
On the other hand, Mr. Castillo affirmed that the State owes a debt to the province of Abancay, precisely with regard to the expansion of the Andahuaylas airport, as well as hospitals in Abancay and the rest of the provinces.
"I would like to openly call on elected and current authorities of Apurimac region so that we can begin engaging in dialogue in an orderly manner. I will be waiting for you at the Government Palace to identify the key issues in order to meet the region's needs," the top official pointed out.
The handing over of title deeds will benefit nearly 10,400 citizens in the provinces of Abancay, Andahuaylas, Antabamba, Aymaraes, Chincheros, Cotabambas, and Grau.
