The President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, will make a state visit to Peru on November 14, 2024, in response to an invitation extended by his Peruvian counterpart, Dina Boluarte.

During the upcoming visit, Presidents Dina Boluarte and Xi Jinping will review the bilateral agenda.

Moreover, the leaders will adopt agreements aimed at deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between both countries.

They will also inaugurate the Chancay Megaport, the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a communiqué shared via social media on Thursday night.

On November 1, Foreign Affairs Minister Elmer Schialer indicated that the Chancay Megaport's inauguration will be held virtually from the Lima-based Government Palace, while hundreds of senior officials from both countries will be present in Chancay, some 80 kilometers north of Lima.

The inauguration will include the first stage of the port, which has entailed an investment worth some US$1.4 billion to have four docks, with a total length of 1,500 meters, 27 specialized cranes, and 40 autonomous vehicles.
