Peruvian President Ollanta Humala received Japan's Prince Akishino, and his wife, Princess Kiko at the Government Palace on Monday where both leaders exchanged congratulatory messages and pledged to deepen bilateral relations.
The Japanese Royal couple arrived in the Andean nation on Sunday to pay a four-day official visit as part of the celebratory events marking the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Prince Akishino, second in line to the Japanese imperial throne, and his wife Princess Kiko started their scheduled activities by visiting this morning the National Museum of Archeology, Anthropology and History of Peru, the oldest country's state museum.
Accompanying the couple's tour was the Peruvian Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage and Industry, Jaime Castillo.
Likewise, they attended the laying of the wreath at the memorial for the 100th anniversary of Japanese immigration to Peru at the Campor de Marte and spoke with Japanese immigrants
Following, the royal delegation headed to the Japanese-Peruvian cultural center to commemorate the 140 years of diplomatic ties.
