President highlights important work of Peruvian farmers

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Friday highlighted the efforts by farmers, thus recognizing the importance of their work —within the framework of Peruvian Farmer's Day which is celebrated nationwide today.


"Sisters and brothers from the countryside, (I convey) my recognition on this Farmer's Day over your work and valuable contribution to agricultural production in Peru," Mr. Castillo expressed on his official Twitter account.

"In the midst of this international situation, which also affects our country, I want to tell you that you are not alone," he added.


Similarly, the Head of State renewed his and the Government's commitment to this sector in order to continue working "with the aim of guaranteeing fertilizers and achieving true agricultural reform, giving you the necessary tools and training."

"Thank you for your selfless service to the country. Always count on us," he concluded.


During a meeting with Llama district population, Mr. Castillo expressed his support for Peruvian farmers, through various projects aimed at guaranteeing water and transportation routes for their products.
