The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Sunday affirmed that her administration has awarded 20 projects worth over US$7 billion in infrastructure linked to electricity, communications, health, port, mining, and transportation sectors.

"In just the past four months, we have committed investments exceeding US$5 billion through public-private partnerships and asset-based projects. These include the Peripheral Ring Road; the Bayovar phosphates expansion; the San Juan de Marcona Port Terminal; and three electrical transmission projects," she detailed.

The Head of State mentioned that leading economic indicators and expectations continue to improve.

"Thus, public investment continues to rise, reaching a historic amount of S/22 billion (about US$5.85 billion). This significant improvement reflects renewed business optimism and the country's economic stability," she stated.

Similarly, the top official highlighted the progress in public and private investments, with 97 environmentally-cleared projects in the first half of 2024, meaning US$5.4 billion, which has allowed for granting feasibility to projects worth over US$8 billion in the past year.

"After the 2023 economic recession, our economy is recovering its growth, exceeding all expectations and forecasts, with a 5.3% growth in April," Mrs. Boluarte emphasized.

"The conditions that make this growth possible will continue throughout the year; thus, we expect the Peruvian economy to close 2024 with growth above 3.1%. This solid performance reflects the resilience of Peruvian economy. We are committed to regaining our growth capacity, and we are on that path! There is no turning back!" she stated.

Remarks were made during her Address to the Nation delivered on the occasion of Peru's 203rd Independence Anniversary at Congress headquarters in Lima.
