Presidency highlights importance of B.A.P. Union as Peru's itinerant embassy

The Presidency of the Republic on Tuesday highlighted the importance of the Peruvian Navy Ship (B.A.P.) Union as Peru's itinerant embassy on its voyages around the world.

This message was shared by the Presidential Office on the X platform (formerly Twitter).

"The B.A.P. Union is already sailing the seas! As Peru's itinerant embassy, it will bring our culture, history, and products to the world, visiting 10 ports in 9 countries," the post stated.

The Presidency highlighted that the ship has 70 cadets and 155 crew members on board, adding that this new voyage "trains future Navy officers and proudly promotes the Peru Brand."

"More than 600,000 people have already visited this symbol of Peruvian identity!" the message added.

Similarly, the post specified that this new journey will take the ship to 10 ports in 9 countries of the Americas and Europe.

The Presidential Office also added that, as an itinerant embassy, the B.A.P. Union spreads our culture, boosts tourism, and positions the Peru Brand.

In addition, the international reach that the ship has achieved is noteworthy, as more than 600,000 people have visited it over its seven years at sea.
