Prime Minister Anibal Torres on Thursday held a meeting with British Ambassador to Peru, Kate Harrison, on the occasion of the end of her diplomatic duties in the South American country.

The Cabinet chief thanked and recognized the work carried out during the four years of Ambassador Harrison's administration —during which bilateral relations were strengthened.

Likewise, Torres highlighted the Government-to-Government Agreement reached for the organization of the 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games, as well as the Government-to-Government Agreement for Reconstruction with Changes, and the implementation of the Special Public Investment Project for Bicentennial Schools.

These actions are a sign of the great moment that the Peru-UK relationship is going through.

For her part, the diplomat stated that the United Kingdom will continue to offer technical assistance for public infrastructure development so as to transfer knowledge and skills, which can be replicated in other areas of the Peruvian State.

Furthermore, the envoy expressed the firm support of the United Kingdom for Peru's entry into the
Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

In this regard, she highlighted the joint work carried out with the Secretariat of Public Integrity.

As is known, Kate Harrisson has been serving as British Ambassador to Peru since April 2018.
