06:41 | Marrakech, Dec. 23 (ANDINA).
Peru international striker Claudio Pizarro and his German side Bayern Munich claimed their fifth title of 2013 as they lifted the Club World Cup with a 2-0 win over Raja Casablanca on Saturday.
“Everyone wants to win this competition, particularly the South Americans, who consider the champions to be the best club in the world,” Pizarro said after the match in Marrakech, Morroco.
The Bavarian giants had few problems against Moroccan champions Raja as Bayern grabbed both goals inside the opening 22 minutes from Brazil's Dante and Spain's Thiago Alcantara.
Having become the first German team to win the treble of Champions League, Bundesliga and German Cup titles last season, Bayern now add the Club World Cup to the UEFA Super Cup title they won in August.
In personal terms, this was the first time Pizarro has won the Club World Cup, although he remained on the bench in Saturday's final.
During his first spell with the Bavarians, the veteran striker lifted the Intercontinental Cup in 2001 when Bayern beat the then South American champions Boca Juniors.
