Peruvians have welcomed the New Year displaying great enthusiasm, joy, celebrations, and mystical traditions amid fireworks display.
Dressed in yellow for good luck, Lima residents hugged each other at midnight. In fact, enthusiasm peaked when the clock marked the beginning of 2019.
Some streets were crowded by people who came out of buildings to express their happiness and excitement.
Peruvians are well known for their particular and great way to have fun, which explains why music is played when it comes to good times with friends and family.
As every year, celebrations will last for hours.
