Peruvian, South Korean Navies' General Staffs meet in Lima

The Peruvian capital, Lima, has become the venue for the Sixth Meeting of General Staffs of the Peruvian and South Korean Navies.

Its objective is to continue strengthening the existing bilateral relationship, crafting an agenda of mutual cooperation in various fields.

The event began on Wednesday and will end on Friday.

The corresponding inauguration took place at the Peruvian Navy General Staff Conference Room.

The host country's delegation is led by this military institution's General Staff Deputy Chief, Gonzalo Carrera Mazuelos; while the South Korean counterpart is headed by Naval Operations Deputy Chief, Ho Park No.

The visiting country's rear admiral issued his protocol salute to the Peruvian Navy's General Staff Chief, Vice Admiral Cesar Colunge Pinto.

On the first day of the meeting, the representatives of both delegations talked about the organization, roles, and strategic outreaches of their respective institutions.

To visit Peruvian ships

Peruvian Navy Commander General, Luis Polar Figari, was also present at the gathering.

He welcomed the South Korean delegation to Peru and highlighted the solid ties of reciprocal cooperation in the naval field that exist between both navies.

Besides, the South Korean sailors are expected to visit the headquarters of the Navy Industrial Services (SIMA), the Submarine Force Command, and the Naval School of Peru.

They will also board a submarine and a Peruvian surface unit.
