Peruvian President, Spanish King Felipe VI visit refinery

14:16 | Callao (Callao region), Nov. 14.

President Martin Vizcarra and King Felipe VI of Spain on Wednesday visited La Pampilla Refinery in Callao's Ventanilla district.

While touring the facilities, they were joined by Repsol CEO Antonio Brufau who gave explanations about the refinery and the recently-inaugurated low-sulfur fuel production unit.

The new unit places the refinery out in front among the most advanced installations in environmental terms.

This project is the result of a US$741 million investment and will enable local production of fuels with sulfur content below 50 ppm (parts per million). It will contribute to improving air quality and people's quality of life by minimizing the impact of emissions on the environment.

Afterward, the monarch unveiled a commemorative plaque.

Earlier, His Majesty visited the Spanish Embassy's Technical Cooperation Office, where he held a meeting with institutional representatives and figures involved in Peru's Independence Bicentennial Agenda

As is known, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain paid a three-day visit to the Inca nation

Thus, the royal activities in the Inca country have concluded.
