The traditional Peruvian cuisine will be applying to become an Intagible Cultural Heritage next year as it merits its place on the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO)'s landmark list.
The idea started with remarks of the country's Deputy Minister of Culture and Cultural Industries, Luis Castillo Butters.

“Our great project for 2015 is to prepare all needed documentation to request UNESCO to include the Peruvian gastronomy in the list," Castillo told Andina News Agency.

The Peruvian Culture Ministry alongside the country’s Society of Gastronomy (Apega) have discussed formally the proposal to apply the World Heritage Statues.

The government official stressed this initiative is part of the ongoing efforts carried out by Culture sector aimed at promoting and spreading the cultural values of the Andean nation throughout the world.

In its effort to get added the Peruvian gastronomy to the UNESCO list, the Ollanta Humala’s administration will present the seven cultural items which have been already included to the list.
