Ambassador Mario Lopez Chavarri has presented to the Governor-General of Jamaica, Patrick Linton Allen, the credential letters that accredit him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to said country, with residency in Panama.

During his talk with the Jamaican authority, Lopez Chavarri conveyed the greetings and good wishes of the President of the Republic Dina Boluarte.

Moreover, the Peruvian envoy underscored that, after 54 years of friendship relations and cooperation between Peru and Jamaica, his country deepens those ties with this designation and opens a renewed space for addressing issues of mutual interest.

For his part, the Governor General expressed interest in the assessment made by Peru to establish new resident diplomatic missions in the Caribbean and, specifically, in the possibility of reopening a Peruvian mission in Kingston, which was closed in 1989.

Previously, Ambassador Lopez presented a copy of his credentials to Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Minister Kamina Johnson Smith, with whom he addressed issues on the bilateral agenda.
