Peru's Vice-President: We join Colombia's happiness over renewal of its democracy

Peru's First Vice-President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Sunday afternoon participated in the inauguration ceremony of Gustavo Petro as President of Colombia.

In a post on Twitter, she shared pictures of the event, which she described as a beautiful ceremony.

"We join the happiness of the Colombian people and of Latin America over the renewal of its (Colombia's) democracy," Boluarte stated.

On the other hand, during her stay in Colombia, the Peruvian Vice-President met with Mexico's Foreign Affairs Secretary Marcelo Ebrard.

She pointed out that, during the meeting, they expressed their willingness to maintain a high level of dialogue and strengthen the bilateral relationship with the sister country of Mexico.

Moreover, Mrs. Boluarte met with Gustavo Petro last Saturday. The meeting also featured Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Miguel Angel Rodriguez Mackay.

During the gathering, the Peruvian high-ranking official highlighted the excellent state of bilateral relations and the existing overlaps between both countries.

Additionally, both sides agreed to hold the VII Presidential Meeting and Binational Cabinet between the two countries in the first quarter of next year in Peru.
