The
on Tuesday affirmed that there is clear persecution, once a constitutional complaint was presented today, adding that the objective would be to "overthrow the Government" with these types of actions.
Mr. Castillo hosted CAS COVID workers at the Government Palace's Courtyard of Honor in Lima during the evening.
Within this framework, the top official stated that the Executive Branch wants to solve the country's major problems. However, he said, some sectors attempt to harm it.
"As they (opponents) know that there is a Government which will solve (the population's problems), they want to overthrow it now. Today, there are constitutional complaints, there is persecution, and they do not even mind messing with my own mother, but here I am," he underlined.
The Head of State added that, despite this situation, he is present and —if necessary— he will undertake all efforts for the benefit of the population, as well as of workers from the health, education, and various sectors that contribute to national development.
"Today, we are in another age; that is why the other side gets mad; they do not want that the people are listened to," he expressed during his speech.
The top official indicated that people's efforts must be respected, adding that all citizens' needs must start to be met in every Peruvian region.
Regarding the health sector, Mr. Castillo affirmed that he will be firm in correcting what is wrong, because there are many historic demands, which had not been addressed by previous administrations.
The President said that health workers must be respected. He added that said workers deserve decent salaries as they are professionals who contribute to the country's development and directly serve Peruvian citizens.
