The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Friday met with the Pacific Alliance Business Council (CEAP) as part of her commitment to boost the Peruvian economy by promoting foreign investment in the country.

During the activity, the Head of State highlighted the great impetus given to the Pacific Alliance by the business community, as a job creator and promoter of investment, in addition to promoting innovation and competitiveness.

Likewise, she stressed the importance of said regional bloc in achieving an environment conducive to business development among its member countries, by eliminating trade barriers, facilitating the exchange of goods and services, as well as promoting cooperation in key areas such as innovation and technology.

The Pacific Alliance was formally established by a treaty signed by Peru, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico on June 6, 2012, in a ceremony held in the Atacama Desert in Chile.

Since its creation, twelve leaders have assumed the presidency of the bloc, which rotates among its four member countries after a one-year period.

Peru currently holds the Pro Tempore Presidency of the bloc.
