Health —he underlined— is a fundamental right, not an act of discrimination or privilege. Thus, the top official emphasized that his administration will continue to strengthen the vaccination against COVID-19.
Remarks were made during the ceremony marking the delivery of 18 ambulances donated by Japan to the Directorates of Integrated Health Networks of Metropolitan Lima and the Mobile Emergency Care System (SAMU).
At the event, Mr. Castillo highlighted the vocation of friendship and cooperation between Japan and Peru, as well as their joint fight to reduce social gaps, such as access to drinking water and electricity, among other aspects.
The principles of solidarity and international cooperation prevail in this donation with the aim of better facing global risks and threats, he added.
The event took place at the National Health Institute located in Lima's Chorrillos district.
