The
President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Monday affirmed that the Executive Branch is respectful of the country's institutions and asked each entity to act within the framework of due process, regarding the motion presented to Congress to dismiss National Justice Board (JNJ) members.
The Head of State underscored that each institution is free to proceed in accordance with the Constitution.
However, she noted that the Government is only asking that it be done within the framework of respect that each entity deserves, so that Peruvians can move forward instead of tripping one another up.
The dignitary stressed that the country needs to be at peace and live in democracy in order to project security at a domestic and international level and thus attract more investments, since they are necessary for the development of the country.
"JNJ members have been elected for a term of office. I refer to that rule of law. We need to know how to respect it. If there is any sanction, it should be identified, it should be individualized, but the entire JNJ cannot be put on a single platform; this creates weakness and instability in the country," she told reporters.
"Congress needs to show a little more political maturity, as well as look at the country within the macro context and not subjectively," the President added.
On the other hand, she highlighted that the Executive Branch is addressing climate events in a preventive and non-reactive manner, as compared to previous governments, having invested 12% more in this matter.
"We will continue working on this concern to ensure that our sisters and brothers are less damaged when landslides, rains, and cold weather begin in high Andean areas," the top official remarked.
In addition, she claimed that her brother, Nicanor Boluarte, has no role in the Executive Branch nor is he part of the Government, which is open to any kind of verification in this regard.
