The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Wednesday affirmed that her administration's commitment to the Peruvian National Police (PNP) is firm and unwavering, with the aim of winning the battle against crime.

"My Government will continue working for the National Police; our commitment is firm and unwavering," Mrs. Boluarte expressed during the inauguration of the Risk Intervention Motorized Squad Base (Emir) of the Motorized Police Unit in Lima's El Augustino district.

In this regard, the president indicated that this commitment is based on the exceptional graduation of police agents from academies, which means an increase of more than 5,000 police agents patrolling our streets.

"Our objective is clear; we are going to win this battle against crime; we are committed and we will not back down," she said.

Similarly, the top official stated that the Government has "a firm commitment to peace and tranquility," deploying "the maximum effort to confront crime jointly with our dear and good Peruvian National Police."

"Our Government, through the Ministry of Interior and its Minister Juan Jose Santivañez, who is strong and firm against crime, supports our Peruvian National Police and all its organic units, such as those of the caliber of Los Halcones," she expressed.

Regarding the new Los Halcones Base, Mrs. Boluarte said it will be the operations center where 180 agents and 80 motorcycles will be stationed to patrol this part of the city, as well as the most critical areas of Lima.

"Our work is 24/7; there are no holidays or truces; we work tirelessly to give peace of mind to our sisters and brothers. This new base will serve to boost the Safe Dawn and Safe Return operations deployed by the National Police," she stated.

In this sense, the top official explained that these operations led to the detention of 8,000 people, the dismantling of 400 criminal gangs, and the seizure of 100 weapons.

"With this new Los Halcones Police Base, the work will be more effective; we are sure of that, police agents," she added.
