The
President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti on Sunday evening led a monitoring visit and closing ceremony of the third Vaccinathon held in Lima Metropolitan Area and Callao region.
The event was held at the National Sports Village (Videna) in the presence of Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez, State Ministers, and Lima's Mayor Jorge Muñoz.
The vaccination against COVID-19 of people aged 40 and above got underway within the framework of the third Vaccinathon, which started on Saturday morning at 07:00 a.m. (local time) and ended today at 7:00 p.m. at 22 vaccination centers in Lima and Callao.
The 36-hour-long vaccination drive was intended to speed up the process of immunization against COVID-19 and complete administering the necessary doses for those aged above 40 who —for some reason— have not yet received the jab.
