The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Thursday posed for a group photo at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Week.

On this occasion, Mrs. Boluarte was the only woman among the leaders of the 21 economies that participate in this important regional economic forum, which takes place in San Francisco, United States.

Alongside her were leaders: Joseph R. Biden of the United States, Xi Jinping of China, Justin Trudeau of Canada, Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore, Joko Widodo of Indonesia, Yoon Suk-Yeol of Korea, Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia, Gabriel Boric of Chile, among other senior officials.

The Peruvian Head of State also attended the working lunch of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum leaders.

At this event, representatives of the invited member economies were present to discuss issues related to sustainability, climate, and fair energy transition.

The top official affirmed that the growing environmental challenges raise the urgency of boosting sustainability as one of the essential axes of public policies.

Similarly, Mrs. Boluarte mentioned that Peru will propose a roadmap for the use of hydrogen in the Asia-Pacific region, as an alternative source of clean energy.

"Peru, by assuming the Presidency of APEC in 2024, adopting a practical approach and building on what has been advanced by the forum, proposes agreeing on the development of principles to prevent, as well as to reduce food loss and waste in the Asia-Pacific region," she expressed.
