on Wednesday announced that the entire educational material was distributed nationwide, with the aim of starting the 2024 school year, scheduled for March 11.
Remarks were made during the inauguration of 1264 Juan A. Vivanco Amorin Educational Institution in Lima's eastern Ate district.
"The budget is guaranteed. From the Ministry (of Education), 100% of (educational) material has been delivered and distributed nationwide; what remains is for governors, in coordination with local education authorities, to transfer it to educational centers," she pointed out.
In this sense, the top official specified that 30% is left to be completed and expressed confidence that "100% will have been distributed (to educational centers)" by the start date of the school year, scheduled for March 11.
"I tell parents to be confident that teachers will care for their children fondly at educational centers; let's take boys, girls, and adolescents to schools, and I tell them to go eager to learn," Mrs. Boluarte expressed.
"On March 11, let's go to classrooms with that desire to learn and undertake efforts to acquire knowledge (…)," she added.
The Head of State announced that she will travel to Peruvian provinces on Thursday to inaugurate more educational institutions –an effort that will continue until before the start of the school year "in order to deliver what was built in 2023."
Bicentennial School
Afterwards, the president participated in the inauguration of 0085 José de la Torre Ugarte Educational Institution in Lima's El Agustino district.
The corresponding works entailed an investment of S/53 million (about US$13.99 million) and will benefit more than 700 students.
The Head of State indicated that this Bicentennial School features psychomotor classrooms, multipurpose rooms, creative workshops, science and technology laboratories, among other services.
