Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez on Monday morning urged Peruvians to commit to eliminating all forms of discrimination.

Via Twitter, the Cabinet chief stated that all people have the same rights.

In addition, Bermudez stressed the need to ensure the recognition and exercise of the rights of the LGTBI community.

"Everybody has the same rights! Let us commit ourselves to eradicate all forms of discrimination and guarantee the recognition and exercise of LGTBI people's rights #Orgullo2021 (#Pride2021)," she said in the tweet.

The International LGBT Pride Day is an unofficial observance celebrated worldwide on June 28 in commemoration of the 1969 Stonewall riots.

This day serves to reaffirm the feeling of pride on traditionally marginalized and repressed sexual and gender identities and orientations, as well as to raise awareness of their claims and presence in society.
