The Cabinet chief arrived in Puno on Friday joined by
Education Minister Martin Benavides to deliver the first batch of more than 1,000 tablets aimed at students and teachers from 162 public schools in the southern region.
"We will continue making efforts, along with the national, regional, and local governments, to narrow the existing gap. We must continue striving as a community so that these children can learn in the best conditions," he said.
For his part,
Minister Benavides pointed out that tablets constitute a pedagogical and technological resource, which will contribute to closing gaps and connecting the population with matters linked to development.
Also joined by Puno Governor Agustin Luque, the officials visited the Rural Educational Institution N° 72261 located in Huancane Province, where they handed out 22 tablets: 19 for children and 3 for teachers.
