Peruvian Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez affirmed that more than S/290 million (about US$76.3 million) has been saved in favor of citizens and companies, thanks to the administrative simplification process implemented to provide better services to the population.
The Cabinet chief affirmed that the regulatory reform was launched in 2017 to have an impact on people's daily lives, thanks to the review of the Executive Branch's administrative procedures.
"The results show the removal of 30% of paperwork and more than 1,300 requirements," Bermudez said as she listed the achievements made from the beginning of the reform period up to 2019.
In this context, she emphasized that administrative simplification also responds to a "fair and efficient action of the State, focused on the service provided to people."
During her participation at the seminar "30 years of administrative simplification in Peru: achievements, challenges, and the future agenda," organized by the
Development Bank of Latin America (CAF), Bermudez highlighted that Peru approved the Law of Administrative Simplification and its regulations in 1989.
She explained that such law defines administrative simplification as the principle that forces the removal of unnecessary obstacles and costs for society.
Similarly, she emphasized that administrative simplification plays a leading role in the provision of services to people. Besides, it not only helps to remove the requirements and unnecessary burdens, but also to provide a timely, efficient, and effective response to the needs of people.
