"Unfortunately, it is not the first time that
Antauro Humala's party has promoted a vacancy. Sadly, there are members of Congress who are joining this game, allowing themselves to be manipulated by radical groups," he expressed.
As the Cabinet chief warned, the cause for vacancy due to moral incapacity is being arbitrarily interpreted, and it has nothing to do with any accusation against the president.
"The president's issue should be addressed within the scope of the Prosecutor's Office and not be taken as a pretext to cause political destabilization in the country at such a
serious time of pandemic and
economic reactivation," he said.
"It is totally irresponsible that what this party (UPP) merely seeks is to destabilize the government, seek the release of its leader, and
postpone the (general) elections," he underlined.
Martos also mentioned that some parliamentarians had arrived at the prison facility, where Antauro Humala is incarcerated, making inappropriate use of their right to inspection, and on days when they are not authorized to do so.
