Peru's PM: Camisea consortium confirms its participation in meeting

15:30 | Lima, Oct. 6.

Peru's Prime Minister Guido Bellido on Wednesday reported that the Camisea gas operating consortium has confirmed its participation in a meeting requested by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM), within the framework of the renegotiation of the Camisea gas contract.

In a post on Twitter, Bellido said that "everything is possible when the people stay united," and attached the statement issued by the companies comprising the Camisea consortium.

In the letter, the Camisea consortium expressed its readiness to continue contributing to the development of natural gas in the country, as well as its massive use for the benefit of Peruvians.

This —it says— "within the framework of unrestricted respect for the contracts entered into and the applicable law, as has been the Consortium's practice since the start of the Camisea project."

"We confirm our presence in the meeting that has been convened, which will be attended by representatives of the signatory firms," reads the statement sent to Bellido, in his capacity as President of the Council of Ministers.

The document was signed by the representatives of Pluspetrol Peru Corporation S.A., Hunt Oil Company Peru L.t.C., Repsol Explotacion Peru, SK Innovation, Sonatrach Peru Corporation S.A.C., and Tecpetrol del Peru S.A.C.
