Labor and Employment Promotion Minister Betssy Chavez on Saturday affirmed that it is time to put the country back on track and improve communication channels, in order to put an end to political noise and achieve a true process of dialogue with different political actors.

Chavez stated that she hopes that, after days of reflection during Holy Week, the different political actors and all citizens can understand the need to generate a reconciliation process to engage in a dialogue without taking into consideration the political ideologies, such as right wing, left wing or center.

"I think there was no such sincere dialogue in the past months, and I believe that it is time to put the country back on track and improve our communication channels," she said in statements to RPP.

In this regard, the State minister noted that it was time to put the country first and, if a negotiation takes place, "we may give up essential aspects and sit down to talk to see how the country moves towards its objective,” the government official commented.

"We all need to set a national compass and reduce so much political noise," she added.

"We believe that it is important to generate consensus among the different political forces in the country. The President of the Republic and the Prime Minister met with different political leaders, and we welcome this type of meetings because we cannot plunge the country into another conflict," the Cabinet member pointed out.

Chavez went on to say that political leaders need to sit down and talk so as to seek the best for the country, such as governance.

On the other hand, she affirmed that the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion does not ban or allow strikes, since this is a right protected by the Political Constitution of Peru.
