Peru's Foreign Affairs Minister Angel Miguel Rodriguez Mackay on Sunday met with his Bolivian counterpart Rogelio Mayta, as part of his work agenda during his visit to Colombia in order to attend the inauguration of Gustavo Petro.

During the meeting, both ministers agreed on the holding of the VII Presidential Meeting and Binational Cabinet in Peruvian territory.

They also agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation to enhance the capacities of Ilo Port, which has been Peru's permanent vocation within the framework of strengthened bilateral relations.

Afterwards, the Peruvian government official held a meeting with the Acting Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) Mario Cimoli.

During the meeting, they agreed on the important role that ECLAC plays in the region.

In addition to highlighting the importance of the technical assistance provided by ECLAC to the countries in the region, Cimoli underscored the relevance of Peru's participation in regional integration and coordination schemes.

In this regard, the participation of the foreign affairs minister in the ECLAC Period of Sessions —to be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from October 24 to 26 this year— was ensured.
