Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Javier Gonzalez-Olaechea on Sunday affirmed that a decisive action plan is required to guarantee peace as an essential element for the region's development.
These remarks were delivered during the 24th Extraordinary Meeting of the Andean Council of Foreign Affairs Ministers (CAMRE), together with ministers and authorities in charge of internal security of member countries.
As is known, on January 12, Peru proposed holding this session, which was included in the declaration that the Andean Council of Foreign Affairs Ministers issued regarding violent events that occurred in Ecuador.
The meeting seeks to "adopt concrete and effective measures to fight the scourge of transnational organized crime," the statement said.
"I am confident that today's meeting will contribute to laying the foundations for a renewed and revitalized Andean security agenda that will allow us to effectively confront transnational organized crime," she stated.
