Peru's First Lady: I respect the judicial decision, it will strengthen my work

09:30 | Lima, Oct. 15.

First Lady of the Nation Lilia Paredes said that she respects the decision of the Judiciary which rejected the request by the Public Ministry that had sought to prevent her from traveling abroad.

Via social media, the wife of President Pedro Castillo indicated that this decision will strengthen her work as First Lady who cares for infants and the country's most vulnerable population.

"I will continue to collaborate with justice," she expressed.

Last Friday, Judge Raul Justiniano, head of the Eighth Preparatory Investigation Court of the National Superior Court, rejected the request to ban Mrs. Paredes from leaving the country for 36 months.

Instead, the magistrate ordered the measure of appearance with restrictions —within the framework of the investigations into the First Lady.

The Public Ministry is an autonomous body of the Peruvian State.
