Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Javier Gonzalez-Olaechea held a meeting with
United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Secretary-General, Rebeca Grynspan, at which both authorities congratulated each other on the management carried out.
Within this framework, the successful official visit to Peru in 2022 by UNCTAD was highlighted, which allowed strengthening bilateral cooperation, and which to date has led to progress on issues such as e-commerce and economic empowerment.
Similarly,
Gonzalez-Olaechea requested cooperation to strengthen the capacities and digitalization of ports and the logistics sector, as well as the development of industrial parks in the country, which were welcomed by Grynspan.
Other meetings
During the meeting, Pope thanked Peru for the invitation to make an official visit and confirmed her willingness to do so in the coming months.
In turn,
the Peruvian minister reiterated the importance of migratory regularization and management processes.
Similarly,
he was thankful for the support Peru has been receiving in this regard, as well as that to be provided by the IOM to address population displacements as a result of El Niño phenomenon.
