Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi has met with Gan Kim Yong, Singapore's Minister of Trade and Industry.

This activity took place within the framework of her working visit to Jakarta, Indonesia, where she will meet with representatives of the countries attending the 43rd Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The meeting served to reaffirm the fruitful relationship between Peru and Singapore, based on common interests in free trade and economic integration, through mechanisms such as the Pacific Alliance and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).

During the gathering, Minister Gervasi remarked that the Pro-Tempore Presidency of the Pacific Alliance promotes the ratification of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the bloc's members and Singapore.

According to the Peruvian government official, said ratification helps strengthen Peru's participation in the Asia-Pacific value chains in favor of trade and investment.

Moreover, the Cabinet member pointed out that Peru continues its efforts to promote the benefits of the FTA with said country, as well as the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

The goal of these efforts is to contribute to economic growth in both countries.
