Peru's Ambassador meets with U.S. Assistant Secretary for DHS International Affairs

Peruvian Ambassador Gustavo Meza-Cuadra held a meeting with United States Acting Assistant Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) International Affairs Office, Blas Nuñez-Neto.

According to the Peruvian Embassy in D.C., the event aimed to discuss migration, security, among other issues of interest to our region, as well as to strengthen cooperation in these areas.

The diplomat reiterated Peru's commitment to safe, orderly, and regular migration, highlighting our efforts to regularize migrants with the aim of contributing to their identification, labor, and educational integration, as well as access to health services and humanitarian assistance.

The dignitaries also highlighted the importance of regional dialogue and the implementation of the Los Angeles Declaration on Migration and Protection as tools that promote the security of the Western Hemisphere and the personal development of its citizens.
