Peru's 2022 Lima mayor elections: Lopez Aliaga 26.8%, Urresti 25.8%

The candidate for Mayor of Lima, Rafael Lopez Aliaga (National Renewal), obtained 26.8% of votes in the capital city, followed by Daniel Urresti (We can Peru) with 25.8%, according to an exit poll conducted by América/Ipsos.

Candidate George Forsyth (We are Peru) received 19.4%; followed by Elizabeth Leon (Front of Hope), 8.7%; Omar Chehade (Alliance for Progress), 7.5%; Gonzalo Alegria (Together for Peru), 6.5%; Maria Elena Soto (Avanza Pais), 4.1%; and Yuri Castro (Free Peru), 1.2%.

The exit poll does not constitute the official results, as these will be announced by the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) tonight.

The Regional and Municipal Elections

More than 24 million Peruvians were eligible to elect 13,032 authorities in 25 regions, 196 provincial municipalities, and 1,694 district municipalities throughout the country.

Voting was held between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (local time).
