Peru wins four accolades at World Travel Awards Latin America 2019

11:30 | La Paz (Bolivia), Jul. 15.

The Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) was named South America's Leading Tourist Board for the fourth time in a row by the World Travel Awards (WTA), heralded by many as the "Oscars of the travel industry."

"These victories support the hard promotional work done by Promperu, Mincetur, and the tourism sector, which evidences an articulated work between public and private sectors," PromPeru CEO Luis Torres Paz said.

"All these efforts showcase our country in the world, thus consolidating itself as a destination full of history, culture, nature, and a delicious gastronomy renowned all over the world," he added.

These awards reflect, once again, the high quality of Peru's tourism products and services.

In addition, these accolades support the promotional measures carried out by PromPeru, such as campaigns, as well as attendance at fairs, roadshows, and training sessions.

About World Travel Awards

WTA was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry.

Today, the WTA brand is recognized globally as the ultimate hallmark of quality, with winners setting the benchmark to which all others aspire.

Each year, WTA covers the globe with a series of regional gala ceremonies staged to recognize and celebrate individual and collective success within each key geographical region.

WTA gala ceremonies are widely regarded as the best networking opportunities in the travel industry, attended by government and industry leaders, luminaries and international print and broadcast media.
