Peru will sign protocol to eliminate illicit tobacco products trade

During the 10th Conference of the Parties (COP10) to the World Health Organization (WHO) Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC), Peru announced its upcoming accession to the Protocol to Eliminate Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products.

The need to consider electronic cigarettes within the group of products that affect people's health was also underlined at the aforementioned meeting, the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

The COP10 sees the participation of delegates from all over the world. This event takes place in Panama City from February 5 to 10.

The 183 Parties to the Convention, which account for more than 90% of the world's population, work in unison to enhance and promote tobacco control.
