Peru, U.S. share experiences on COVID-19 vaccination process

The event was attended virtually by U.S. Embassy Chargé d'Affaires Denison Offutt and Brigadier General William E. Crane. For their part, Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez and Health Minister Oscar Ugarte represented the Peruvian counterpart.

Both nations' dignitaries discussed logistics, refrigeration, and vaccine administration systems.

Likewise, the vaccination programs in both countries were discussed in the presentations by U.S. and Peruvian specialists.

It is worth mentioning that West Virginia is one of the most successful U.S. States in the process of immunization against COVID-19 —having one of the highest vaccination rates in the world.

"We have proven ourselves to be the world leader in vaccinations against COVID-19. We understand the vital need to share best practices to improve vaccine distribution and protect the most vulnerable citizens from this disease. We appreciate this important dialogue with our Peruvian partners through the discussion on the distribution of vaccines," said Crane.

The Embassy of the United States will continue to promote these discussions between the institutions with which it exercises joint international cooperation functions, in order to strengthen the ties uniting both nations.
