Peru's Foreign Affairs Minister Cesar Landa on Friday met with United States Ambassador to Peru Lisa Kenna to coordinate details of Peru's participation in the upcoming Summit of the Americas.

In a post on Twitter, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Landa and Kenna addressed various issues on the bilateral agenda.

Moreover, the government department stated that they agreed on the importance of further increasing the excellent level of relations between both countries and the bilateral cooperation.

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo has been invited to participate in the above-mentioned international event, to be held in Los Angeles, California (U.S.).

In a plenary session last Thursday, Congress authorized the top dignitary to travel outside the country from June 7 to 12, 2022. The draft legislative resolution was approved with 103 votes in favor, 2 against, and 1 abstention.

The Ninth Summit of the Americas will bring together political leaders of the continent to discuss and identify actions to address problems and challenges shared by countries in the region, as well as to make progress towards integration.
