Peru will reaffirm its position as one of the world's most attractive and competitive mining destinations during its participation in the
, with the official delegation set to conduct activities in Sydney, Australia, from October 19 to 23.
Through a
ministerial resolution published in the Official Gazette El Peruano, the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) declared the country's participation in this major global event to be of national interest.
Strategic participation
The official delegation will include the Energy and Mines Minister and other senior sector authorities, who will take part in conferences, panels, and bilateral meetings within the official IMARC 2025 program.
Peru will also have a pavilion in the exhibition area, where it will showcase its geological strengths, project portfolio, progress in sustainability, and improvements in the regulatory environment, with the aim of attracting foreign direct investment.
Responsible mining
APCCI Board Chairman Carlos Castro Silvestre emphasized the strategic importance of IMARC 2025 as an international platform to position Peru as a benchmark in responsible mining.
This event represents a key opportunity to attract new investments and strengthen ties with Australia, one of the world's leading mining hubs.
"IMARC is the most prominent mining event in the Asia-Pacific region and ranks among the most influential conferences in the world. It will bring together over 10,500 participants, including investors, government officials, technology companies, and mining operators from more than 120 countries," Silvestre stated, highlighting the transformative potential of this platform for Peru's mining sector.
Peruvian mission's objectives
Peru's participation in IMARC 2025 aims to fulfill a clear agenda focused on international outreach, innovation, and investment attraction.
The main objectives include:
1. Engage with Australian METS: Access the latest equipment, technology, and specialized services developed in Australia to promote responsible, efficient, and sustainable mining.
2. Position Peru: Strengthen the country's presence on the global mining stage by highlighting its technical capabilities, geological potential, and progress in sustainability as part of a vision for a modern and competitive industry.
3. Build a high-level global network: Establish strategic ties with institutional investors, business leaders, multilateral organizations, and decision-makers interested in long-term partnerships and sustainable projects.
4. Expand access to the Asia-Pacific: Take part in the region's key event driving global economic growth, opening new opportunities for exports, technological cooperation, and trade integration.
APCCI reported that the call to join the official Peruvian delegation remains open. It also extended the invitation to companies, business associations, institutions, and professionals interested in joining the mission.
